1909-1911 T206 Walter Johnson - Hands At Chest - SGC EX+ 70 (Old Mill)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,014.50

Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. Hands-at-chest pose. Highest-graded Johnson example with Old Mill advertising reverse. Extremely attractive high-grade T206 of Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson. Johnson, of course, is one of the key Hall of Famers in the T206 White Borders set, which is universally recognized as one of the most substantial and beautiful sets ever produced. This T206 of Walter Johnson is a gorgeous example. It is bright and clean, with a deep blue background and perfect registration. The corners are square with extremely light wear visible under close inspection. Near-perfect centering with a natural diamond cut to the top and bottom borders (which likely keeps this card from grading higher). The Old Mill advertising on the back is boldly printed. This card would be a worthy addition to any high-grade T206, Walter Johnson, or Hall of Fame card collection. This is an exceptional classic vintage card in an extremely desirable grade. The equivalent SMR value for an EX 5 (SMR does not list EX+ values) is $1,500. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,014.50
