1909-1911 T206 White Border Collection (51 cards)
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $2,370.00
Collection of fifty-one cards (fifty different) from the T206 White Border set highlighted by Hall of Famers Chief Bender and Vic Willis. These cards originate from an old-time collector and were collected largely with eye-appeal, not technical grade, in mind. Two-thirds of the cards in this collection present as ranging from Vg to Ex on the front but have glue residue from album mounting visible on the reverse. As such, they technically grade overall Good. The remaining third of the collection is in Poor to Fair condition due to creasing. This collection consists of the following: Ames/hands over head, J. Barry, two Batch, Bender/no trees (HOF, Gd), Bescher/hands in air, Bradley/with bat, Burch/batting, Donlin/with bat, Doolan/batting, Dorner, Engle, Flanagan, Frill, P. Graham, Grimshaw, Howell/hand at waist, Krause/portrait, Kruger, Latham, Leach/bending over, Leifield/batting, Livingstone, McQuillan/with bat, Milan, Murphy/batting, Nattress, Needham, Nichols/batting, Oldring/batting, Paskert, Payne, Pelty/vertical, Perring, Pfeister/throwing, Pickering, Rhodes, Rudolph, Schlei/batting, Seymour/throwing, Ha. Smith, S. Smith (Southern Leaguer), Stanage, Titus, He. Wagner/bat on right, Warhop, White/pitching, Wilhelm/with bat, Willett, Willis/pitching (HOF, Pr), and Wiltse/pitching. The advertising backs are mostly Piedmont with fourteen Polar Bear, three Old Mill, and two Sweet Caporal. This is a very attractive collection of cards from the classic T206 series which present at a level superior to their technically accurate grades. Total: 51 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500++.
