1910-Era SGC "Authentic" Hall of Fame Collection (9) Including T201, T202, T205, and T206

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,303.50

Collection of nine different cards from four classic prewar tobacco-card sets, each featuring Hall of Famers (with the exception of one card). These particular cards were purchased by our consignor in the late 1980s to very early 1990s, before the advent of professional grading, described as NM-MT, and selected for their outstanding appearance. Each card has been graded and encapsulated as "Authentic" by SGC (submitted by REA). Despite most cards in this group presenting as Ex-Mt or better at a glance, each card displays slight evidence of trimming, which accounts for the "Authentic" designation. 1) 1911 T201 Mecca Double Folder (2 cards): Brown/Hofman and McGinnnity/McCarty. 2) 1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folder (2 cards): #45 Devlin Gets His Man (Mathewson/Devlin-Rustlers) and 46 Devlin Gets His Man (Fletcher/Mathewson). 3) 1911 T205 Gold Border (2 cards): Hugh Jennings and Zach Wheat. 4) 1909-1911 T206 White Border (3 cards): Brown/portrait, Keeler/with bat, and Merkle/portrait. This is a very attractive group of key cards, each presenting with exceptional eye-appeal and representing an excellent opportunity to acquire relatively affordable examples of these classic Hall of Famers at a fraction of the cost of higher-graded examples. Total: 9 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,303.50
