1966 Topps “Insult Postcards” Display Box, Unopened Packs, Complete Set, and Wrappers

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $711.00

Collection of cards, packs, and display pieces from the unusual Topps "Insult Postcards" series. Issued in 1966, this postcard-size (3-1/8 by 5-1/4 inches) 32-card set features large color illustrations with statements that, when read separately, seem flattering, but when read together took on a more insulting meaning. This collection consists of one complete set of thirty-two cards along with twenty-four duplicates (sixteen different) in overall Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt condition (including a few lesser due to centering). Also included is one empty display box (Excellent, light shelf wear visible), six unopened five-cent wax packs (Nr/Mt with two lesser due to tears on the reverse), and five wax-pack wrappers (Nr/Mt). This is an outstanding collection of cards and related material from this unusual, and rarely encountered, mid-1960s nonsport issue. Total: 56 cards, six wax packs, five wrappers, and one display box. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $711.00
