1966 Topps "Make Your Own Name Stickers" Unopened Wax Boxes (3 boxes, 72 packs)
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $3,555.00
Collection of three original complete unopened wax boxes from the Topps "Make Your Own Name Stickers" series. Issued by Topps in 1966, this unusual set includes thirty-three sticker card designs featuring grotesque, monster-like faces. Accompanying the sticker cards inside each pack was a sheet of stickers with assorted names for youngsters to peel off and place in empty nameplates under each face. This lot contains three unopened wax boxes, each of which houses twenty-four five-cent wax packs, for a total of seventy-two packs. All the packs are well preserved and tightly wrapped, grading Nr/Mt-Mt or better throughout. The display boxes are also in excellent condition with only light shelf wear visible. One box shows minor splitting along the front side joint along with light creasing on the front side panel, both of which are completely unobtrusive but are mentioned for the sake of accuracy. The die-cut panel on each box is fully intact, unpunched as was intended for store displays. This is an outstanding collection of these rarely seen wax boxes from this unusual mid-1960s Topps nonsport issue. Total: 3 boxes containing 72 packs. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $3,555.00
