1966 Topps Batman "Red Bat" Series A Uncut Sheet (132 cards)
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $592.50
Complete 132-card uncut final production sheet from the 1966 Topps Batman "Red Bat" Series A set. Batman took the world by storm in 1966 with the introduction of the wildly popular Batman television series. Topps joined the bandwagon with several series of card sets devoted to the Caped Crusader. This classic 1960s card set featured brilliantly illustrated scenes of Batman and Robin in action as they protected Gotham City. This sheet contains a total of 132 cards arranged in eleven rows of twelve cards, which represents a triple-printed run of the forty-four card set. An impressive visual is created with all of the cards printed on front, and large, colorful panels featuring the characters Batman, Robin, Joker, Riddler, Penguin, and Catwoman on the reverse. This is an ideal sheet for display as it maintains the same vivid colors as intended more than forty-five years ago. A few condition flaws are visible as a result of storage throughout the years including several vertical creases and minor edge tears. The sheet has also been stored rolled and exhibits bowing. Despite these flaws, this is still an extremely attractive display sheet from one of the most popular of all Topps nonsport issues. Rare and ideal for framing and display. Dimensions: 28 x 43 inches. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+.
