1933 R73 Goudey Indian Gum Uncut Sheet

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,896.00

Goudey Indian Gum is one of the most popular and difficult to complete of all the 1930s gum-card issues. Offered is a beautiful Indian Gum production sheet with fully printed backs, featuring the following twenty-four cards from this classic 1930s gum-card series: #73, 74, 75, 89, 90, 91, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, 111, 112, 114, 121, 122, 123, 129, 133, 134, 135, 139, and 141. The sheet has some minor imperfections, which include some light creasing and corner wear. A few small areas of paper loss on the reverse affect the text of some cards and almost certainly relate to the sheet's storage long ago in the Goudey Gum Company archive file books (which were discovered and dispersed to the four corners of the collecting world in 1969). 1933 Goudey Indian Gum sheets are almost nonexistent, and in fact are even rarer than their highly sought after baseball counterparts. A true rarity and a prize nonsport sheet, from one of the key gum-card issues of the 1930s. Ideal for display. The sheet measures 14-1/2 x 11-1/2 inches and has also been very professionally and expensively double-side matted and framed (so both the front and back can be viewed) to dimensions of 26 x 23-5/8 inches. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,896.00
