This complete set of R173 "The World in Arms" cards features some of the finest artwork of any Gum, Inc., production. Created in the same era as the gruesome "Horrors of War" issue, the R173 "World in Arms" series focuses on the weapons used by countries involved in the then-current war efforts. The set is organized into six separate series, each with a different theme relating to the arms of the world: "Airplanes," "Ships," "Iron Cavalry," "Field Artillery," "Fortifications," and "Miscellaneous." Each card in this set has been graded by PSA with a cumulative GPA of 4.375. PSA grading composite: NM 7 (1 card): Miscellaneous #2 (MC). EX-MT 6 (5 cards): Airplanes #5 and 8; Iron Cavalry #2; Miscellaneous #3; and Field Artillery #3. EX 5 (24 cards): Airplanes #1, 2, 3, 7, 12, and 16; Ships #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9; Iron Cavalry #1 and 3; Field Artillery #1 and 3; Fortifications #1, 2, and 4; and Miscellaneous #1, 5, and 7.
