1911 T205 Gold Border Collection (49 cards) Including Mathewson and Young

Collection of forty-two different (plus seven duplicates, for a total of forty-nine cards) 1911 T205 Gold Borders, highlighted by twelve Hall of Famers, including Christy Mathewson, Tris Speaker, and Cy Young, one minor leaguer, and a few significant rarities. Three cards are graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). Condition: Twenty-one cards grade Vg to Vg-Ex, and twenty-eight cards are lower grade, ranging from Poor to Good (including a couple trimmed or color added). Highlights: two Baker (HOF, Vg-Ex and Pr with Polar Bear back), Cady/minor leaguer (Gd), Chance (HOF, Gd/Vg), Clarke (HOF, Gd), E. Collins (HOF, SGC VG/EX+ 55), Dougherty/red sock (Vg), Grant (Vg), Leifield/"A.P." front (Fr, Polar Bear back), Mathewson (HOF, SGC VG 40, Polar Bear back), McGraw (HOF, trimmed, Cycle back), Speaker (HOF, Pr), Turner (Pr), two Wallace/cap (HOF, SGC VG/EX 50 and Vg+), Wheat (HOF, Gd), and Young (HOF, Fr/Gd). The other cards included are: Austin, Barger/Full "B", two Barry, two Bescher, Crandall/"T" Not Crossed, Dooin, Downey, Elberfeld, two Hartsel, Herzog, Jacklitsch, T. Jones, Kling, Knight, Lang, two B. Lord, McBride, McConnell, Miller, Pelty, Phelps, two Simmons, Smith, Street, Tannehill, D. White, and Wolter. The forty-two different T205 Gold Borders in the collection represent 20% of the set, and could serve as a solid foundation for the building of a very attractive low- to medium-grade complete set of this classic tobacco-card issue.
