1930s R72 Schutter-Johnson "I'm Going To Be" Complete Set Minus 1 (24/25)

Starting Bid - $100.00, Sold For - $237.00

Near-complete set of twenty-four cards from the R72 "I'm Going To Be" series. Missing only legendary rarity #4 Strongman for completion. This popular set, issued with Schutter-Johnson candies during the 1930s, features colorfully illustrated professions on the front and a brief description of the job on the reverse. These cards were designed to plant seeds of future employment in the minds of young children and offered numerous suggestions ranging from practical (fireman and policeman) to ambitious (athlete and baseball player) to far-fetched (pirate). Condition of this set is mostly Gd to Vg with one lesser. Despite the technically accurate assigned grades, this set remains very attractive with bold colors and perfectly printed reverse text. This is an affordable opportunity to acquire a complete set of this classic 1930s nonsport issue. Total: 24 cards. Reserve $100. Estimate $200+. SOLD FOR $237.00
