1935 Official Press Pass to the Trial of Bruno Hauptmann - Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping

Official press pass issued for the trial of Bruno Hauptmann, held in Flemington, New Jersey, in 1935. The green pass, numbered "71," granted entry to reporter "Gene Feldman" of "WNEW," for the court proceedings held on the "Afternoon of Saturday, January 26, 1935." The pass displays four boxes to identify the pass holder's status (Witness, Press, Photographer, or Bar), with this example checked for "Press." The trial of Bruno Hauptmann, who was accused of kidnapping and murdering the young son of Charles Lindbergh in 1934, was one of the most widely publicized trials in United States history and is often referred to today as the "Trial of the Century." The trial ran from January 2nd through February 3rd, with each day's testimony and evidence making front-page news across the country. Hauptmann was ultimately found guilty of the crime and was executed on April 3, 1936. The pass (4.5 x 3.5 inches), which is printed on cardboard stock, displays a number of moderate creases throughout, as well as a few small, light stains. In Very Good condition. Reserve $100.
