Circa 1910 Harry Houdini Signed Real-Photo Postcard

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,185.00

Real-photo postcard signed by legendary magician and escape artist Harry Houdini (1874-1926). The postcard pictures a studio image of Houdini in formal attire and identifies him in print along the base as "Harry Handcuff Houdini." It has been signed simply "Houdini" in black fountain pen (grading "6") vertically along the right border. This card dates to the early portion of Houdini's career, just after the turn of the century, when he was known as the "handcuff king." The "Harry Handcuff Houdini" identification makes this a particularly unusual and interesting signed Houdini piece. The postcard displays a tiny chip in the lower left corner, a few light surface wrinkles, and two slight stains. The reverse remains blank, save for the preprinted postcard notations. In Very Good condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,185.00
