Pair of Jimi Hendrix Concert Posters Including His Final Performance

Two Jimi Hendrix concert posters dating from his final years on tour. 1) Handbill promoting a concert by The Jimi Hendrix Experience at Wichita State University's Henry Levitt Arena on July 29, 1969. The bill features a picture of Hendrix in a paint-by-number design and notes that tickets could be obtained either at the box office or by mail This concert was eventually canceled by Hendrix, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience played its last concert in Denver two days later before breaking up. The single-sided handbill (14 x 8.5 inches) is printed on thin paper stock and remains in Near Mint condition. 2) Poster for the 1970 Love and Peace Festival at the Isle of Fehmarn in Germany on September 4, 5, and 6, 1970. This poster is noteworthy as it promotes Hendrix's final concert before his untimely death less than two weeks later on, September 18. Also appearing on the card were Sly & The Family Stone, Taste, Ten Years After, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Ginger Baker's Air Force, Peter Green, Procol Harum, Rod Stewart & The Faces, Alexis Korner, The Incredible String Band, Colosseum, and others. This poster was issued in two different sizes and three different color variations. The offered poster is the brown version in the smaller size (1.25 x 32 inches). The poster, printed on thin paper stock, displays a few edge tears and chips, as well as some light discoloration. In Good condition overall. Total: 2 posters. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600.
