Three 1830s Andrew Jackson Signed Land Grants with Direct Family Provenance!

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,896.00

Collection of three Andrew Jackson signed land grants dating from the early 1830s. What makes these particular land grants all the more special is that they have been consigned to this auction directly from a descendent of the original recipient and have been in the family's possession since the day they were issued. Each of the land grants, which are all preprinted and handwritten on what appears to be vellum, is nearly identical in size (15.75 x 9.75 inches) and wording, with the exception of the particular parcels of land it assigns to the respective recipient. 1) Land grant, dated November 1, 1830, granting Anthony Stingley eighty acres of land in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Signed in black ink ("grading "8/9") by Andrew Jackson, as President, and by Elijah Hayward, as Commissioner of the General Land Office. Complete with its original paper seal. Gd-Vg, with normal folds, light foxing, and a three-inch tear along one of the horizontal fold lines. 2) Land grant, dated February 8, 1831, granting George Stingley eighty acres of land in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Signed in black ink ("grading "8") by Andrew Jackson, as President, and by Elijah Hayward, as Commissioner of the General Land Office. Complete with its original paper seal. Ex, with normal folds and light foxing. 3) Land grant, dated February 8, 1831, granting George Stingley eighty acres of land in Crawfordsville, Indiana (different acreage than the previous grant).
