1887 N184 W. S. Kimball Champions SGC-Graded Collection (11)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $711.00

Collection of eleven different of the fifty cards comprising the N184 W. S. Kimball Champions set. Kimballs are considered by many to be among the most beautiful of all of the nineteenth-century tobacco issues. The set features champions and stars of the day from a wide variety of sports. All eleven cards have been graded and encapsulated by SGC (except one PSA). Seven cards range from Vg to Vg-Ex condition. The remaining four cards are in lesser grades (ranging from Fair to Gd condition). The SGC grades are as follows: Four VG/EX 50: Cockburn, Jordan (PSA VG-EX+ 4.5), Murphy, and Webb. Three VG 40: Cardiff, McLaughlin, and Muller. Two GOOD 30: Freeman and Heins. Two FAIR 20: Beardsley and Ferrell. This is a very attractive collection of one of tobacco-card collecting's most classic issues. These eleven cards represent an ideal start for the building of an entirely graded N184 Kimball set. Total: 11 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $711.00
