1909-1910 Caramel Card Collection (5) Including Four Hall of Famers

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $1,422.00

Collection of five different caramel cards from four classic prewar sets. This group is highlighted by Hall of Famers Mordecai Brown, Frank Chance, Sam Crawford, and Bobby Wallace. The fifth card features Fred Merkle who, though not a Hall of Famer, is a player of great significance to the deadball era. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by SGC (except one PSA). 1) 1909 E92 Nadja Caramels Bobby Wallace (EX 60). 2) 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Sam Crawford (PSA VG-EX 4) and Fred Merkle (EX 60). 3) 1910 E96 Philadelphia Caramel Mordecai Brown (VG 40). 4) 1910 E98 Frank Chance (VG-EX 50, outstanding presentation on the front, but we grade this card at a lower level due to multiple areas of paper loss on the reverse). This is a very attractive group of caramel cards from several popular issues comprised exclusively of highlights. The equivalent SMR value is $2,960. Total: 5 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,422.00
