Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Of the 1,318 examples graded by PSA, only one example of this classic card has ever been graded higher. Extremely desirable ultra high-grade rookie card of "Pistol" Pete Maravich from the very popular and condition-sensitive 1970-1971 Topps "Tall Boys" basketball series. This card is one of the highlights from an original-owner collection of Topps and Bowman cards dating from the 1950s through the 1970s. (The collection is being offered as several lots in the auction.) The card is bright and crisp, with vibrant colors, a flawless surface, four razor-sharp corners, perfect registration, and centered just a hint to the left. The reverse is also perfectly clean, and centered towards the bottom left (when held horizontally as intended). This card is a pack-fresh gem! Hall of Famer "Pistol" Pete Maravich started his basketball career as a 6'5'' guard from LSU, where he set the record as the greatest scorer in college basketball history. Maravich will forever be remembered for his dazzling style of play and as one of basketball's greatest legends. This is an exceptional high-grade example, bordering on GEM MINT condition, of Pete Maravich's rookie card, which is the key card from the set, and one of the all-time classic basketball cards.
