1888 N162 Goodwin Co. Beecher - Very First Football Card!

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,962.50

Graded GOOD 30 by SGC. An extremely presentable example of the very first football card from this very popular and colorful set of fifty Goodwin Champions, issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen. The card is accurately graded due to various small flaws but is still very attractive, bright and crisp, with brilliant colors. The card presents with even rounding to the corners and an upper left crease, faintly visible on the front but noticeable on the reverse. A few small areas of paper loss are also present but do not have a distracting effect on the text-heavy reverse. This is a very sharp-looking example of one of the most important cards in its respective set and one of the most famous football cards of the era. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
