1991 Eddie Murray Signed Pro-Model Bat - PSA/DNA GU10
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,659.00
Eddie Murray Louisville Slugger signature-model "M275" dating from the 1991 season. Graded a perfect GU10 by PSA/DNA. This is one of the finest Eddie Murray pro-model bats in the hobby today. The bat displays exceptional use along its entire length, including numerous ball and stitch marks (including black ink transfers) on the right, left, and back barrel. Also evident are cleat marks and red bat-rack marks. The handle features Murray's distinctive application of five separate rings of white tape, as well as a moderate application of pine tar. There is a very slight crack in the handle (between the third and fourth tape ring) that is only visible upon close inspection. Ideally, Murray's uniform number ("33") is written in black marker (circled in red) on the end of the knob. Murray has also inscribed the bat, "Eddie Murray #33," in black Sharpie (grading "10") on the barrel, just below the stamped team designation. Murray batted .260 with 19 home runs and 96 RBI in 1991, which was his third and final season with the Dodgers. One of only four players in history to ever amass 3,000 hits and 500 home runs, Murray finished his 21-year career with 3,255 hits (thirteenth all-time), 504 home runs (twenty-fifth all time), and a .287 average. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2003, his first year of eligibility. Length: 35.5 inches. Weight: 32.9 ounces. LOA from John Taube and Vince Malta of PSA/DNA and LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+.
