1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Ty Cobb
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,666.25
Graded VG-EX 4 (MK) by PSA. Extremely attractive example of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the E95 Philadelphia Caramel series, one of Cobb's most beautifully designed cards and the key card from this rare and classic 1910-era candy set. Of special note: The image on this card is unique to the set. It can be found in no other set (unlike many other 1910-era cards of Cobb). This E95 Philadelphia Caramel Ty Cobb is an exceptionally strong, technically mid-grade example with extraordinary eye-appeal. Cobb’s image contrasts sharply against the bold red background. The card is very well centered, just a hint towards the bottom right (a very slight tilt to the image), with just a touch of wear to the square corners. No creases. A purple date stamp on the reverse ("May 8, 1910") is responsible for the "MK" designation from PSA. This is a beautiful and striking mid-grade example of one of Cobb's most desirable and classic cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+.
