Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $829.50
Dave Winfield H&B signature-model "K55" bat dating from the two-year span 1974-1975. Graded GU9 by PSA/DNA. This is a scarce rookie-era Winfield bat and one that displays outstanding use along its entire length. The bat, which is not cracked, shows numerous ball and stitch marks along the barrel, as well as cleat marks. A light coat of pine tar has been applied along the middle of the handle. A single thin strip of clear tape (barely visible) has been applied to the base of the handle. Ideally, Winfield's uniform number ("31") is written in black marker on the top of the barrel. Although 1973 marked Winfield's Major League debut with the Padres, 1974 and 1975 represent his first two full seasons with the club. Winfield batted .265 with 20 home runs and 75 RBI in 1974. He followed that up with 15 home runs, 76 RBI, and a .267 batting average the next season. Winfield finished his career with 3,110 hits (twentieth on the all-time list), 465 home runs, and 1,833 RBI. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2001. Length: 35.5 inches. Weight: 33.8 ounces. LOA from John Taube and Vince Malta of PSA/DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $829.50
