New York Yankees press pin issued for the 1928 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The circular, scalloped-edge pin incorporates a patriotic red, white, and blue enamel color scheme surrounding a bat-and-ball motif. The lettering reads "Press/World Series/American League" Just as they had done in 1927, the Yankees once again made short work of their National League rivals in the 1928 World Series, sweeping the Cardinals in four straight. The pin (approximately 1 inch in diameter), manufactured by Dieges & Clust, features its original threaded-post back and is in outstanding Near-Mint condition. This is an outstanding example commemorating the Yankees first great World Championship dynasty. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $3,258.75
