1907 Wolverine News Detroit Tigers Postcard Ultra High-Grade PSA Collection (4)
Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $829.50
Collection of four 1907 Wolverine News Detroit Tigers Postcards, each graded and encapsulated by PSA. The set of twenty postcards was produced by the Wolverine News Company to commemorate the Tigers' participation in the 1907 World Series and is famous for the inclusion of one of Ty Cobb's true rookie cards. The collection consists of the following: Ed Killian (EX 5), George Mullin (EX+ 5.5), Charlie O'Leary (EX 5), and Claude Rossman (EX 5). Each card is the lone, and highest, graded example on record between PSA and SGC, with the exception of Claude Rossman which is one of two at that level on the combined population reports (but the only PSA example). These four postcards have survived in extraordinary condition (especially for this set) and could serve as the foundation for the assembly of the world's finest and highest-graded set for this rare issue. Dimensions: 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Total: 4 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $829.50
