500 Home Run Club Single-Signed Ball Collection (24) - All Graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA - Twenty-One of the Twenty-Five Members!

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $2,666.25

Offered here is an extraordinary 500 Home Run Club single-signed ball collection that is distinguished by the fact that each ball has been graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA. This collection features single-signed balls for twenty-one of the twenty-five players who currently have 500 or more home runs and is missing only Ruth, Ott, Foxx, and Griffey for completion. The 500 Home Run Club members represented here are Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, Ernie Banks, Harmon Killebrew, Willie McCovey, Reggie Jackson, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Mike Schmidt, Gary Sheffield, Frank Thomas, Eddie Murray, Frank Robinson, Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, and Rafael Palmeiro. Additionally the collection also includes MINT 9 balls signed by Albert Pujols (who should join the club this year; he is 25 home runs short), and two other players who at one point appeared to be on track to break the 500 home-run mark: Vladimir Guerrero (449) and Andruw Jones (434). Each signature has been scripted in blue ink across the sweet spot of an official Major League (Selig) ball with the exception of Mantle (OAL [Brown] ball), Williams (OAL [Brown] ball), and Mathews (ONL [White] ball). All of the balls are housed in their original sealed cases and are accompanied by their individual PSA/DNA LOA and/or COA. The compilation of this collection required a great deal of time and expenditure on the part of our consignor. As a point of reference, the current SMR value for this collection, excluding Sheffield, Thome, Thomas, Guerrero, and Jones (no values yet listed for those balls) is $4,020; however, we feel that that number might be low, given the extraordinary quality of each ball and especially given the difficulty and cost of obtaining the most recent members. This is a modern-day collecting classic, a set that has the potential to be completed (with the addition of Ruth, Ott, Foxx, and Griffey), and an extraordinary collection exactly as is. The assembly of this collection in such incredibly high grade and quality will most likely be even more greatly appreciated in the years to come. Total: 24 balls. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $3,000+. SOLD FOR $2,666.25
