Multisigned Wedding Card - Thirty-One Hall of Fame Signers, Including Mantle, Williams, and DiMaggio

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,185.00

This tri-fold wedding card unfolds to reveal thirty-one Hall of Fame signatures, plus those of Barry Bonds and Rafael Palmeiro. The Hall of Famers represented here are Mantle, T. Williams, DiMaggio, Mize, Musial, Berra, F. Robinson, Killebrew, Jackson, Schmidt, Mays, Mathews, McCovey, Banks, Murray, Aaron, Marichal, Slaughter, Kaline, Ford, Kiner, Snider, Seaver, Spahn, Sutton, Wynn, Perry, Ryan, Niekro, Carlton, and Blyleven. Two of the signers have specifically addressed the happy couple. Mize has prefaced his signature with "To Mike + Tiziana," while Killebrew begins with "To Mike & Tiziana/Much Success &/Happiness!" A mailing label on the reverse of the card, bearing the name "Dr. Michael Scott Rubenstein" (who was married to Tiziana Rinaldi) serves to identify the original owner. Although it appears that the card was ultimately signed over a period of time, Seaver has added the date, "July 20th, '90" below his signature. All of the signatures have been flawlessly scripted in either blue ink or Sharpie, with the exception of Ted Williams (black ink), and grade "10." Interestingly, one of the three panels has been signed exclusively by the fourteen members of baseball's elite 500 Home Run Club represented here (almost certainly by design), and could be neatly separated from the other two panels if so desired. This is certainly a unique card and whatever the circumstances of its origin, it remains a spectacular multisigned Hall of Fame signed display piece, with plenty of room for additional signatures. Full LOA from PSA/DNA and LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,185.00
