1977 New York Yankees Signed Team-Composite Photos - 28 Signatures, Including Munson, Martin, and Howard

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $3,555.00

Complete set of four 1977 New York Yankees team-composite photographs, featuring eight team members on each sheet, signed by twenty-eight of the thirty-two players represented, including a simply superb Thurman Munson autograph. Anyone who was a kid growing up in the late 1970s is probably familiar with this set of four composite photographs issued by the Yankees, as they were standard fare for anyone writing to the team for free souvenirs. Autographed examples, however, are extremely rare. This particular set has a special and unique provenance. All of the autographs were personally obtained by longtime Baltimore Orioles television and radio announcer Ted Patterson, who has provided a handwritten letter of provenance attesting to that fact. Each player has signed the sheet in black marker either atop or next to his respective image, with each signature grading "10." The twenty-eight signatures represented here are those of Thurman Munson, Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, Billy Martin (Mgr.), Yogi Berra (coach), Elston Howard (coach), Dick Howser (coach), Sparky Lyle, Ron Guidry, Chris Chambliss, Graig Nettles, Lou Piniella, Willie Randolph, Mickey Rivers, Roy White, Cliff Johnson, Dick Tidrow, Fred Stanley, Don Gullett, Fran Healy, Bucky Dent, Ron Bloomberg, Mike Torrez, Ed Figueroa, Paul Blair, Cloyd Boyer (coach), Bobby Cox (coach), and Mickey Klutts. The four signatures needed for completion are those of Ken Holtzman, Gil Patterson, Carlos May, and George Zeber. Each of the four sheets (10 x 8 inches) displays minor handling wear, including a few light creases along the borders, and is in Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $3,555.00
