Burleigh Grimes Single-Signed Ball

J. DeBeer and Son "Special League" ball signed by Hall of Fame pitcher Burleigh Grimes. Grimes has scripted his name, "Burleigh A. Grimes" in blue ink across the sweet spot, with the signature grading "7/8." Grimes was the last of the legal spitball pitchers in baseball, and he used the slippery pitch to amass 270 wins over the course of his nineteen-year career (1916-1934). Grimes was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1964 and he passed away in 1985. Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $100. Estimate $300+. SOLD FOR $474.00
