Jimmie Foxx Signed Photo

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $948

This classic halftone photo (4 x 7 inches), printed on heavy paper stock, features an ideal portrait of "The Beast," Jimmie Foxx, as well as a virtually flawless large blue ballpoint signature ("9/10"). One of the greatest sluggers in baseball history, Foxx compiled some of the most frightening statistics of all time, racking up 534 home runs, 1,922 RBIs, 1,751 runs, and a .325 career batting average over twenty seasons. From 1929 to 1940, Foxx hit 30 or more homers and drove in at least 105 runs every year, and it should be noted that he far surpassed those "modest" totals on most occasions. Foxx signatures are always desirable, but it is rare to find an unusual high-quality signed image such as this. In Excellent to Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $600/$800.
