The collection consists of the following: #1-1 Albert (Cleveland, 1888 copyright), 2-3 Alcott (Mansfield, 1888 copyright), 5-5 Allen (Pittsburgh, 1889 copyright), 14-4 Bakley (Cleveland), 24-2 Beatin (Cleveland, 1889 copyright), 36-3 Boyle (Indianapolis), 41-1 Brosnan (Sioux City, 1888 copyright), 45-1 Brown (New York), 45-3 Brown (New York), 64-2 Cantz (St. Louis), 64-3 Cantz (St. Louis), 75-1 Clark (Washington, 1889 copyright), 75-2 Clark (Washington, 1889 copyright), 77-5 Clarke (Omaha), 77-8 Clarke (Chicago), 84-1 Collins (Newark), 87-1 Connell (Des Moines, 1889 copyright), 89-3 Conway (Boston), 91-1 Conway (Kansas City, 1888 copyright), 97-2 Crane (Washington), 99-5 Crooks (St. Louis, 1888 copyright), 110-3 Dailey (Philadelphia), 114-3 Daly (Chicago), 119-3 Davis (Kansas City, 1888 copyright), 134-2 Duffe (St. Louis), 136-3 Dugdale (Minneapolis), 141-3 Dwyer (Chicago, 1888 copyright), 145-2 Emmerke (Des Moines, 1889 copyright), 157-2 Ferguson (Philadelphia), 160-5 Fields (Pittsburgh), 162-1 Flanigan (Sioux City, 1889 copyright), 163-3 Flint (Chicago), 174-5 Fuller (St. Louis, 1889 copyright), 179-1 Ganzel (Boston), 182-4 Geiss (Chicago), 189-1 Gilligan (Washington), 199-2 Greer (Brooklyn), 213-3 Hanrahan (Minneapolis, 1888 copyright), 218-1 Healy (Washington), 218-2 Healy (Indianapolis), 222-3 Henderson (Brooklyn), 227-2 Hines (Washington), 230-3 Holbert (Brooklyn, 1888 copyright), 231-2 Holliday (Cincinnati), 231-6 Holliday (Cincinnati, 1888 copyright), 253-5 Keenan (Cincinnati), 337-1 Myers (Indianapolis), 381-2 Reilly (Cincinnati), 408-2 Seward (Philadelphia), and 512-2 Zinn (Philadelphia, 1888 copyright). The fronts range from Vg to Ex-Mt condition (with a few lesser). Contrast varies, as is always the case with Old Judges, but overall this is a particularly strong group with reference to photo quality. Almost all of the cards have glue or paper remnants on the back from at one time being mounted into a scrapbook; several other cards have paper loss or pen/pencil notations. Such minor back imperfections would not even have to be mentioned in the “old days” of collecting, but are now noted due to the impact on grading by professional grading services. A little back damage usually “comes with the territory” with Old Judges, and most collectors are very tolerant of this, especially since so many cards were originally saved in scrapbook albums. Scans of all cards are provided online. Total: 50 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500++. SOLD FOR $7,110
