Collection of forty-one different cards (out of 72 cards in set) from the 1941 Play Ball bubble-gum series issued by Gum, Inc., with many highlights, including Mel Ott, Jimmie Foxx, and Hank Greenberg. Each card is graded and encapsulated by PSA (all have been personally submitted to PSA over the past couple years by our consignor, now 87 years old, who collected back in the 1970s). PSA Condition Report: Six NM 7: #37, 50 (OC), 51 (OC), 52, 63 D. DiMaggio, and 68 (OC). One EX-MT+ 6.5: #38. Ten EX-MT 6: #5 (MC), 12, 15 Cronin, 31 (OC), 32 (OC), 34, 57, 61 V. DiMaggio, 66, and 67. Five GOOD 2: #6 Hubbell, 9, 13 Foxx, 19 Gehringer, and 27. Two FAIR 1.5: #16 and 18 Greenberg. This is a very attractive collection which could serve as an excellent start toward the assembly of a complete set, or serve as an impressive representation of the issue. The SMR value of just thirty-five cards from the group (not including the six qualified cards) is $2,042. Total: 41 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500.
