Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,778
Collection of thirty-three different 1933 Goudey cards plus three 1934-1936 R327 Diamond Stars cards, for a total of thirty-six 1930s gum cards, including seven Hall of Famers, all graded and encapsulated by PSA. 1) Collection of three different high-grade 1934-1936 R327 Diamond Stars cards, each graded NM 7 by PSA: #16 Lloyd Waner (HOF), 33 Schoolboy Rowe, and 46 Red Lucas. This is an exceptionally crisp high-grade trio, with each card a very strong example worthy of a world-class 1934-1936 Diamond Stars set. 2) Collection of thirty-three 1933 R319 Goudey Gum cards: This is a very attractive collection of 1933 Goudeys with PSA grades ranging from Good to Nr/Mt. The collection consists of the following: One NM 7: #62 Martin. One EX+ 5.5: #228. Two EX 5: #68 and 205 (MC). Three VG-EX+ 4.5: #25 P. Waner (HOF), 176, and 206. Ten VG-EX 4: #54, 86, 87, 88, 133 Lindstrom (HOF), 174, 177, 199, 209 Luque, and 235. Four VG+ 3.5: #77, 85, 140, and 229 Vaughan (HOF). Nine VG 3: #18, 36, 49 Frisch, 57, 90, 101, 120, 166, and 232 O'Doul. Three GOOD 2: #11, 89 Speaker (HOF), and 188 Hornsby (HOF). 1933 Goudeys are one of card collecting's most popular and classic sets. This is a very attractive group that could serve as the foundation for the building of a very attractive set (the thirty-three cards represent 14% of a set) or make a significant contribution to a set currently being assembled. The SMR value for the assigned grades (not including the one qualified card) is $2,525. Total: 36 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
