1933 R319 Goudey PSA-Graded Collection (179) Including Two Ruths and Gehrig

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $11,258

Extremely impressive collection of 179 different 1933 Goudey gum cards, highlighted by forty-nine Hall of Famers, including two Babe Ruth cards (#144 and 149) and Lou Gehrig (#92), each graded and encapsulated by PSA. Incredibly, these cards have been consigned directly by the original owner, now 87 years old, who purchased these cards as a youngster when they were issued in 1933 and saved them ever since (all have been personally submitted to PSA over the past couple years by our consignor). These are very attractive cards, bright and clean throughout, with numerous highlights, key cards, cards from every serie, including low numbers, and an extremely high concentration of Hall of Famers (27% are HOFers). The PSA grades are as follows: One NM 7: #125 Terry. One EX-MT+ 6.5: #110 Goslin. Three EX-MT 6: #32, 124, and 133 Lindstrom. One EX+ 5.5: #223 Dean. Twelve EX 5: #26, 43, 67, 93, 119 Hornsby, 159, 166, 173, 174, 210, 233, and 237. The SMR value for the assigned grades (not including the eight qualified cards) is $14,753. Total: 179 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$10,000+. SOLD FOR $11,258
