1928 F50 Harrington's Ice Cream Collection (33), Including Ruth and Gehrig

Collection of thirty-three different (of the sixty in the set) 1928 F50 Harrington's Ice Cream cards including an impressive twenty Hall of Famers, highlighted by extremely impressive examples of key cards #6 Babe Ruth and #26 Lou Gehrig. This is a very strong group that was assembled by an extremely dedicated collector. All thirty-three cards are graded and encapsulated by SGC. The SGC grades are as follows: One EX+ 70: #11. Eight EX 60: #8 Pennock, 12, 22 Heilmann, 29 Lazzeri, 30 Hoyt, 34, 46 Terry, and 54 Sisler. Nine VG/EX 50: #4 Faber, 13 Hornsby, 21 Combs, 26 Gehrig, 39, 42 McGraw, 50 Frisch, 58, and 59 L. Waner. Nine VG 40: #3, 6 Ruth, 17, 25 H. Wilson, 33, 35, 40, 41 Harris, and 45 P. Waner. Two GOOD 30: #14 Traynor and 44 Alexander. One FAIR 20: #2. Three POOR 10: #16 Rixey, 18, and 24. The set is identical in design to several other issues of the era, such as Tharp's Ice Cream, Sweetman, and Yuengling's Ice Cream, but with advertising for Harrington's Ice Cream on the reverse. Collectors have always appreciated the rarity and primitive charm of this distinctive issue. This is an extremely substantial and impressive group of these unusual and scarce 1920s cards, including Ruth and Gehrig, and representing over 50% of a complete set. Total: 33 cards. Reserve $1,000.
