1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco Walter Johnson

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $7,703

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Presented is a classic portrait image of Hall of Famer Walter Johnson from the prized T204 Ramly series. This is one of tobacco-card collecting's great classics. One of Walter Johnson's rarest cards, it is also universally recognized as the key card from the Ramly Tobacco set. The card has light rounding to the corners, minor wear on the edges, and a few unobtrusive creases. The reverse is clean with bold black print. The card displays better than suggested by the technically accurate SGC grade of Very Good. This is an exceptionally attractive mid-grade example of the key card from one of tobacco-card collecting's most highly respected and beautifully designed sets. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grade is $6,500. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000+. SOLD FOR $7,703
