1909-1911 T206 Cy Young - Portrait

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,252

Graded EX 5 by PSA. A very attractive T206 portrait of Cy Young set against a bold green background. This is one of Cy Young's most striking cards and one of the most popular cards in the entire T206 set. This particular card is a remarkably striking example for this Cy Young pose. Not all T206 Young portrait cards look this nice! The colors are bright, and Young’s image is perfectly focused. The shade of green in the background allows for ideal contrast and gives this card particularly strong eye-appeal. The card is centered just a hint to the right and all four corners have just a hint of light, even wear. The Piedmont reverse has bold blue print against an off-white background. A very attractive high-grade example of one of Cy Young’s most striking cards from the premier tobacco-card set of the era. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
