1909-1911 T206 White Border PSA VG-EX 4 Collection (127)

Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $10,665

Collection of 127 different T206 White Border tobacco cards, each graded and encapsulated VG-EX 4 by PSA (all have been personally submitted to PSA over the past couple years by our consignor, now 87 years old, who collected back in the 1970s). The collection is highlighted by the "Joe Doyle, N.Y." hands-above-head pose. Though this is not the exceedingly rare "Doyle, NY Nat'l" variation, of which only a few are known, in recent times the Doyle hands-above-head pose has clearly been selling for a substantial premium. Also includes Hal Chase (holding trophy) and "Black Sox" member Ed Cicotte (Sovereign 150 back). All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertisements on back unless otherwise noted. This is part of a larger collection of T206 cards, which we have broken down into several smaller lots organized by condition. Naturally, this is an extraordinarily consistent collection in terms of condition, and represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a very substantial group of 127 different classic T206 cards (24% of the entire set!) in an extremely desirable and consistent grade. The collection consists of the following: Abbaticchio (blue sleeves), Alperman (Sovereign 150 back), Ames (port., MK), Anderson, Arndt, Ball (Cleveland), Barry (Milwaukee), Bates, Beaumont (Sovereign 150 back), Bell (hands above head), Bergen (catching), Birmingham, Blackburne, Brain, Bridwell (cap), Burchell, Camnitz (arms folded), Camnitz (hands above head), Casey, Chase (holding tropy), Cicotte (Black Sox, Sovereign 150 back), Clark (Columbus, MK), Clarke (Cleveland, Sovereign 150 back), Congalton, Conroy (fielding, Sovereign 150 back), Conroy (bat), Criger (Sovereign 150 back), Criss, Devlin (Sovereign 150 back), Dineen, Donlin (fielding), Donlin (seated, MK), Donlin (bat, Sovereign 350 back), Donovan (port., MK), Donovan (throwing), Doolan (bat), Doolan (fielding), Dougherty (arm in air, Sovereign 350 back), Downey (bat, Sovereign 350 back), Doyle - NY (hands above head), Doyle (port.), Doyle (bat, Sovereign 350 back), Durham (MK), Egan, Elberfeld - NY (port., MK), Ewing (Sovereign 150 back), Ferguson, Fiene (port.), Frill, Ganley (Sovereign 150 back), Gasper (MC, Sovereign 350 back), Geyer, Goode, Graham (St. Louis, MK), Hayden, Herzog (Boston), Howard (Chicago), Howell (hand at waist, MK), Howell (port.), Jones (hands at hips), Jones (St. Louis, MK), Jordan (port, Sovereign 150 back), Kleinow - NY (catching, Sovereign 350 back), Kleinow (bat, Sovereign 150 back), Knabe, Konetchy (glove near ground), Kroh (MK, Sovereign 350 back), Lake (St. Louis, ball in hand), Lake (St. Louis, no ball in hand), Leach (port.), Lennox, Liebhardt (MK), Lundgren (Kansas City), McGann (MK), McLean, McQuillan (bat), Merkle (port.), Merritt, Mitchell (Cin., MK), Moeller, Mowrey, Mullen (MK), Murray (port.), Myers (fielding, Sovereign 350 back), Nattress, Nicholls (hands on knees), Niles, Oakes, O'Hara (New York), O'Neil, Overall (port., MK), Owen, Parent (MK), Pastorius, Pelty (horizontal, Sovereign 150 back), Pfeister (throwing), Powell, Raymond (Sovereign 350 back), Reulbach (glove), Reulbach (no glove), Ritchey (Sovereign 150 back), Rucker (port., Sovereign 150 back), Rucker (throwing), Schlei (batting), Schlei (port., MC), Schmidt (throwing), Schulte (front view, Sovereign 150 back), Seymour (port.), Shaw (St. Louis, MK), Shaw (Providence, MK), Sheckard (glove), Shipke (MK, Sovereign 150 back), Stahl (no glove), Steinfeldt (port., MK), Stone (MK), Stovall (port.), Strang, Street (catching), Sweeney (Boston), Titus (MK), Turner, Unglaub, Wagner (bat on left shoulder, Sovereign 150 back), Wagner (bat on right shoulder), White (port., Sovereign 150 back), Williams, and Wiltse (pitching).
