1960s Gil Favor Hartland Statue with Original Tag and Box
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $0
Exceptional high-grade Western Hartland figure of Gil Favor complete with its original tag and box. Favor is one of the scarcer western Hartland figures and it appeared in the company's advertising between the years 1960 and 1963. As most collectors know, the original tags and boxes are exceedingly rare, especially in high-grade, and are seldom offered at public sale. All of the Western Hartland figures in this auction originate from an extremely advanced collection that was assembled with condition in mind, and as such, most of the figures offered here rank among the finest examples we have ever seen. It should be noted that with respect to the boxes, all display a few minor creases as a result of normal handling wear, but nearly all of those offered in this auction are far superior to other known examples and most appear much as they did when originally issued. In an effort to remain consistent, all of the items have been graded on a scale of "1" to "10." This near-complete set includes the figure, standard semi-rearing horse, saddle, reins, hat, gun, tag, and box . It should be noted that the saddle does not appear to be original to the piece because it lacks the compartment for the rifle, which is not included here. Figure and accessories: "9." Tag: "6/7." Box: one of the inside flaps is detached (but present) and there is a small tear in the lid; otherwise "9." Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $0
