1950s Western Hartland Statue Collection in Original Boxes (5): Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill, Jim Bowie, Annie Oakley, and Davey Crockett

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,185

This exceptional high-grade collection of Western Hartland figures is comprised of Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill, Jim Bowie, Annie Oakley, and Davey Crockett, each complete or near-complete with its original accessories, tag, and box (the Crockett box is a reproduction specially made for the collector's market; the other three are originals). As most collectors know, the original tags and boxes are exceedingly rare, especially in high-grade, and are seldom offered at public sale. All of the Western Hartland figures in this auction originate from an extremely advanced collection that was assembled with condition in mind, and as such, most of the figures offered here rank among the finest examples we have ever seen. It should be noted that with respect to the boxes, all display a few minor creases as a result of normal handling wear, but most of those offered in this auction are far superior to other known examples and many appear much as they did when originally issued. In an effort to remain consistent, all of the items have been graded on a scale of "1" to "10." 1) Wyatt Earp and Tombstone #809. Near-complete set with original hat, saddle, reins, tag, and box (missing guns). Figures and accessories: "9.5." Tag: "4." Box: "8," with a small area of abrasion on the bottom flap from the removal of the original price tag. 2) Buffalo Bill and Horse #819. Complete set with original hat, saddle, reins, guns, tag, and box. Figures and accessories: "9.5." Tag: "6." Box: "8," with a small area of abrasion on the bottom flap from the removal of the original price tag. 3) Jim Bowie and Blaze #817. Complete set with original hat, saddle, reins, knife, rifle, tag, and box. Figures and accessories: "9.5." Tag: "8." Box: "5," one of the top side flaps is detached (but present), with the remaining top flaps each detached and repaired on the interior with clear tape; small tear to the top flap; price written in pencil on two front and bottom. Despite the technical flaws, the main body of the box presents as Excellent to Mint. 4) Annie Oakley and Target #823. Complete set with original hat (and string), saddle, reins, gun, tag, and box. Figures and accessories: "7." Tag: "9." Box: "7," with one of the top side flaps detached (but present) and the opposite top side flap detached and repaired on the interior with clear tape. Despite the technical flaws, when the top flap is closed the box presents as Excellent to Mint. 5) Davey Crockett and Streak #807. Near-complete set with original coonskin cap, saddle, reins, knife, and rifle (no tag issued with this statue). As noted above, the accompanying box for this one statue is a reproduction of the original. Figures and accessories: "8.5." Box (reproduction): "9." Total: 5 figures with boxes. Reserve: $500.
