1911 E100 Bishop & Co. PCL Type I SGC-Graded Collection (18)
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $6,518
Extremely rare collection of eighteen different (out of 30 in the set) 1911 E100 Bishop & Co. Type I cards, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (all submitted by REA). The thirty-card 1911 E100 Bishop & Co. Type 1 set is one of the rarest of all Pacific Coast League issues and one of the rarest of all 1910-era candy-card issues. They are also one of the most interesting and distinctively designed of all caramel-card issues. The SGC grades are as follows: Four VG 40: Carlisle (Vernon), Peckinpaugh (Portland), Tennant (San Francisco), and Tozer (Los Angeles). Nine GOOD 30: Burrell (Vernon), Cutshaw (Oakland), Hitt (Vernon), Lerchen (Sacramento), Moore (Los Angeles), Pearce (Oakland), Pfyl (Oakland), Rapps (Portland), and Seaton (Portland). Two FAIR 20: McCreedie (Portland) and Wares (Oakland). Three POOR 10: Delhi (Los Angeles), Mohler (San Francisco), and Steen (Portland). Even a sample card from the E100 Bishop set can be very difficult to find. These cards are new to the modern collecting world. They are from a recently discovered 1910-era original-owner card collection. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a partial set of eighteen different high-grade cards from one of the rarest of all 1910-era candy issues. Total: 18 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000++.
