1954 Ellis Kinder Boston Red Sox Game-Used Road Jersey
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,541
Boston Red Sox road jersey worn by pitcher Ellis Kinder in 1954. The gray flannel jersey is lettered “Boston” across the front and features the number “16” on the reverse. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in navy felt. A “Tim McAuliffe” label appears on the left front tail. Below that, chain-stitched in navy, is the year (“1954”), the size (“44”), the number (“16”), and the notation “3 in,” which denotes an extra three inches in length. Original and unaltered, the jersey displays heavy wear, including numerous team repairs to small tears on the front, reverse, and sleeves. A former twenty-game winner, Kinder retired in 1957 with 102 wins and a lifetime ERA of 3.43. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,541
