1909 Pittsburgh Pirates NL Champions Pocket Mirror with Honus Wagner
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,133
Gorgeous and perfectly centered high-grade example of one of the great classics of all early baseball celluloids. This celluloid pocket mirror features oval portraits of nineteen members of the 1909 National League Champion Pittsburgh Pirates, including Hall of Famers Honus Wagner, Fred Clarke, and Vic Willis, set against a decorative brown background. Manufactured by Cruver Mfg. Co. of Chicago. This celluloid mirror is a gem! In fact, we'd have to say this is the best example of this mirror we have ever offered (at least in this century). The mirror side exhibits scattered areas of oxidation (as is often the case with mirrors). The celluloid front is in spectacular Near Mint condition. Diameter: 2.25 inches. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500.
