1936 All-Star Game Ticket Stub
Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $237
Ticket stub from the 1936 All-Star Game, held at Braves Field in Boston on July 7th. This ticket has always been a favorite of collectors. In addition to being from one of the earliest All-Star games, it naturally stands out from all other early All-Star tickets as the attractive design features portrait images of Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Landis, National League president Ford Frick, and American League president William Harridge. This is one of the rarer tickets from the decade that commemorates both the National League's first win in the midsummer classic and Lou Gehrig's first All-Star Game home run. The holder of this ticket (5 x 2.5 inches) no doubt attended the game. Flaws include a vertical fold, a heavy diagonal crease in the upper right, and edge wear, but is still great for display. Reserve $100. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $237
