1913 New York Giants World Series Ticket Stub - Game 1
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $830
Ticket stub from Game 1 of the 1913 World Series between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Athletics, held at the Polo Grounds in New York on October 7th. In a matchup of future Hall of Famers, the A's Chief Bender outlasted the Giants Rube Marquard, winning the game by a score of 6-4. Aptly, two of the A's runs came on the strength of a two-run home run off the bat of Frank "Home Run" Baker. The A's eventually defeated the Giants in five games to capture their third World Championship in four years. The ticket (3.25 x 1.25 inches) displays a few light creases and surface paper loss on the reverse from having been removed from an album. In Very Good condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+.
