1971 Topps Complete Set (752)

Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $1,763

80% range from Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (averaging Nr/Mt overall), 20% Ex (includes just a few cards lesser and a few cards with slight border touch-up/recoloring). Beautiful and overall very high-grade set, despite a few cards with touch-ups, which do not define the set, but are duly noted. The black flush-to-the-border design of the 1971 Topps set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade (and is no doubt related to why several cards that were submitted to PSA from this set were rejected for numerical grading due to recoloring). We have selected six key cards to be graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: #5 Munson (submitted to PSA, deemed as miscut), 20 Jackson (Ex-Mt), 100 Rose (Ex-Mt), 160 Seaver (75/25 L/R, otherwise Ex), 250 Bench (75/25 L/R, otherwise Ex ), 341 Garvey RC (submitted to PSA, deemed as miscut), 400 Aaron (PSA NM 7), 513 Ryan (submitted to PSA, rejected for recoloring), 525 Banks (Nr/Mt), 600 Mays (submitted to PSA, rejected for recoloring), 630 Clemente (submitted to PSA, rejected for recoloring), 640 F. Robinson (Ex), 709 Baylor/Baker RC (Nr/Mt). Total: 752 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $200/400. SOLD FOR $1,763
