1954 Topps Complete Set (250)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,115

10% Ex-Mt (with a few better), 45% range from Vg-Ex to Ex, 35% range from Gd to Vg, 10% lesser (mostly Pr). The 1954 Topps set is highlighted by the rookie cards of Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, and Al Kaline, and is universally recognized as one of the most popular and classic of all 1950s baseball-card sets. Do not be fooled by the mixed grades. This is a very attractive set! The Hank Aaron rookie card (which is graded VG 40 by SGC), for example, has a bright, crisp Excellent appearance, and has been downgraded for a little corner wear and some very light surface creases (not easily seen). We have submitted six cards from this set to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #1 Williams (EX 60), 10 Robinson (VG/EX 50), 13 Martin (Vg-Ex), 17 Rizzuto (Gd), 20 Spahn (Vg-Ex), 30 Mathews (Ex), 32 Snider (Ex), 36 Wilhelm (Ex-Mt), 37 Ford (Gd-Vg), 45 Ashburn (Vg), 50 Berra (Vg-Ex), 90 Mays (VG/EX 50), 94 Banks RC (VG 40), 102 Hodges (Vg), 128 Aaron RC (VG 40), 132 Lasorda RC (Gd-Vg), 201 Kaline RC (VG 40), 239 Skowron RC (Ex-Mt), and 250 Williams (Fr). Vintage sets in this grade are especially desirable, representing an exceptional value. This is a very attractive mixed-grade set of this classic Topps issue, loaded with Hall of Famers and stars from the 1950s. Total: 250 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+. SOLD FOR $2,115
