1954 Bowman #66 Ted Williams

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,528

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Beautiful high-grade example of 1954 Bowman #66 Ted Williams, universally recognized as one of the most significant of all postwar baseball-card rarities. Williams, of course, had to be replaced with a different card (#66 Jimmy Piersall) very early in the 1954 Bowman print run due to contractual commitments to Topps. Crisp and clean, with flawless bright colors, four sharp corners with just the slightest hint of wear, snow-white borders, no print marks, and a flawless reverse. The 70/30 top to bottom centering and just the slightest hint of corner wear keeps this card from receiving a higher grade. An exceptionally attractive high-grade example of one of Ted Williams' most classic cards, from this extremely popular 1950s issue. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,528
