1936 V355 World Wide Gum SGC-Graded Near-Complete Set (132 of 135)

Starting Bid - $1,500, Sold For - $5,288

1936 V355 World Wide Gum near-set (132 of 135 cards) missing just three cards for completion (#51 DiMaggio and 96 Gehrig, both of which are offered as separate lots in this auction, and also #19 Dean). This set has an extraordinarily high concentration of Hall of Famers. The thirty-five Hall of Famers in the set are highlighted by Jimmy Foxx, Lefty Grove, and Hank Greenberg. One of the most difficult to complete sets of the 1930s, the V355 World Wide Gum set is all the more noteworthy as it features very unusual photographs which appear in no other card issues. 130 of the 132 cards have been graded and encapsulated by SGC.
