Extremely impressive collection of ninety-five different 1933 Goudey gum cards, highlighted by twenty-nine Hall of Famers including Jimmy Foxx and Carl Hubbell, each graded and encapsulated EX 60 (except eight EX+ 70) by SGC. These are gorgeous cards, bright and clean throughout, with numerous highlights, key cards, cards from every series including low numbers, and an extremely high concentration of Hall of Famers (30% are HOFers). The collection consists of the following: #6, 7 Lyons, 9, 11, 16, 17, 20 Terry, 24, 25 Waner, 29 Foxx (Nagy Collection), 33, 37, 41, 42 Collins, 43, 49 Frisch (EX+ 70), 54, 56 Ruffing, 57, 60 Hoyt, 61, 63 Cronin, 65, 67, 69, 74 Rixey, 75, 76 Cochrane, 82, 90, 91, 93, 95, 96, 98, 99, 101 (Nagy Collection), 102 Jackson, 105, 108, 109 Cronin, 117 Maranville, 122, 123, 124 (Nagy Collection), 129, 130 (EX+ 70), 131, 133 Lindstrom, 134 Rice (Nagy Collection), 136 (EX+ 70), 139, 141 (EX+ 70), 147 Durocher, 150 (Nagy Collection), 152, 153, 159, 161, 162 (Nagy Collection), 164 Waner, 166, 167, 168 Goslin (Nagy Collection), 169, 170, 172, 173, 177, 178 (EX+ 70), 182, 184 (Nagy Collection), 187 Manush, 189 Cronin (EX+ 70), 190, 194 Averill, 197 Ferrell (EX+ 70), 198, 199, 200, 205, 206, 210, 216 Gomez (EX+ 70), 217 Crosetti, 222 Gehringer, 224, 227 Herman, 229 Vaughan, 230 Hubbell, 231, 233, 234 Hubbell, 236, and 239. 1933 Goudeys are one of card collecting's most popular and classic sets. This is an exceptional group that could serve as the foundation for the building of a beautiful high-grade set (the ninety-five cards here represent 40% of a set) or make a very significant contribution to a set currently being assembled. The fact that all are in the identical grade, a grade which many believe offers one of the very best values for cards from the classic 1933 Goudey series, makes this is an all the more noteworthy collection. This is an unusually large number of high-quality 1933 Goudey cards in the same grade to be offered as a collection. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades is $12,325 (there is no SMR value for the EX+ 5.5 grade, so the seven examples graded at this level were calculated using the EX 5 value). Total: 95 cards. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$8,000+. SOLD FOR $6,463
