1916 BF2 Ferguson Bakery Felt Pennants Joe Jackson & Buck Weaver
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,763
The 1916 BF2 Ferguson Bakery pennants are one of the most unusual, interesting, and displayable issues of the era. These pennants (each 5.5 inches tall) were issued as a premium with Ferguson Bakery products and are designed with a photograph of a given star affixed to a felt pennant with the player's name and team identified below. Offered are two keys to the set: Joe Jackson and Buck Weaver; the two most famous Chicago "Black Sox" players later banned from baseball for their role in the fixing of the 1919 World Series. Jackson is pictured in BF2 in the same pose as he appears in the Cracker Jack and M101-4/5 Sporting News sets. The Weaver pennant has the original paper tab attached to the reverse. This is one of the very few, and one of the most unusual, issues featuring Joe Jackson or Buck Weaver from their playing days. These are particularly strong examples of these classics, which are rarely found this sharp. Each in Excellent condition. Total: 2 pennants. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,763
