1920 Zeenut PCL Sam Crawford
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $4,994
Graded VG 40 by SGC. “1 of 1"! The only 1920 Zeenut of Crawford ever graded by SGC or PSA. This extremely rare 1920 Zeenut card features Hall of Famer Sam Crawford at the age of 40 playing for the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League. This is one of only three cards of Sam Crawford issued during his playing days in the PCL (the others are the 1918 and 1921 Zeenuts, which are also offered in this auction). Crawford appeared in 187 games for Los Angeles in 1920, and he batted a sensational .332 with twelve home runs, twenty-one triples, and forty-six doubles. The front of the card has just the slightest hint of corner wear and a light crease in the lower left. Bright, fresh, and impeccably clean, both front and back, with a flawless image set against a detailed stadium background. This card would make a significant addition to any world-class collection of sample cards, high-grade rarities, Hall of Famers, or prewar cards. Extremely attractive high-grade example of one of Sam Crawford's rarest and most desirable cards. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $4,994
